2017 Silent Retreat at Still Waters November 11, 2017

STILL WATERS: A SPIRITUAL OUTPOST
9409 Granada Hills Drive, Austin, TX 78737
In keeping with members’ requests that the retreat be simple, we are asked to bring our own soup bowl and spoon. Soup and bread will be provided for lunch. Also, we need to bring our own drink and cup.
The retreat is free to 2015 SDC members. Others who come will be asked to join ($25) or give a donation.
We will gather at the beginning for a meditation. We will also have an hour during which we can meet with another retreatant, if we would like to. Otherwise, we will be in silence. Please bring a book that has inspired you. We will place these books on a table to share during the retreat.

Austin Spiritual Directors Community Retreat 2014
The Austin Spiritual Directors Community hosted Fr. Martin Laird

The Austin Spiritual Directors Community Retreat committee hosted a wonderful retreat for Spiritual Directors from all over Central Texas designed to take time to grow, learn and come together under the guidance of
Fr. Martin Laird, O. S. A., a Professor of Early Christian Studies at Villanova University. Among his writings are, Into The Silent Land: A Guide to the Christian Practice of Contemplation, and A Sunlit Absence: Silence, Awareness, and Contemplation. He has lectured and led retreats throughout the United States, Ireland, and the UK.
The retreat day focused on times for silent prayer and Fr. Laird's talks on the role of contemplation in the life of the spiritual director.
